MANILA – The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Quezon City government have signed two agreements to build rental housing projects under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH).

The projects will construct medium-rise buildings in Barangays Sauyo and Bagong Silangan, identified as suitable sites for the rental housing modality. Around 2,900 residents living along waterways and danger zones are expected to benefit.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Acuzar and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte finalized the partnership after a series of meetings.

Belmonte expressed support for the rental housing scheme, calling it a practical solution for indigent families who cannot afford home ownership.

The DHSUD said details of the projects are being finalized, with the initiative aimed at providing safe and decent housing while strengthening the Expanded 4PH Program.  #
