03/15/2026

CAVITE CITY — A colorful “REGADA” letter standee has been formally installed at the city checkpoint, officially signaling the 100-day countdown to the much-anticipated Regada Water Festival, celebrated annually in honor of Saint John the Baptist.

City officials said the installation serves as both a landmark and a reminder for residents and visitors that one of Cavite City’s most vibrant traditions is fast approaching. Motorists and commuters passing through the checkpoint can now easily spot the standee, which symbolizes the lively celebration where locals splash water on one another — a tradition rooted in baptism and spiritual cleansing.

Festival Tradition

The Regada Festival takes place every June 24, coinciding with the feast day of Saint John the Baptist. Known as one of the most colorful water festivals in the country, it draws thousands of participants who join in the joyful splashing, parades, and street festivities.

Preparations Underway

With the countdown now in motion, the local government is expected to roll out programs, parades, games, and cultural activities designed to make this year’s celebration even more memorable. Officials are encouraging residents and tourists alike to take part in the festivities.

“Regada is more than just a festival — it is a celebration of our heritage, faith, and community spirit,” the city government said in a statement.

Building Excitement

Even at this early stage, excitement is already building in Cavite City as preparations intensify for the Regada Festival 2026. The newly installed standee serves as a visual cue that the countdown has begun, reminding everyone that in just 100 days, the city will once again come alive with water, color, and joy. #
