MANILA — The war of words between Senator Raffy Tulfo and Paolo Duterte intensified after the congressman questioned the alleged use of media and Senate influence by the Tulfo brothers.
According to Duterte, the Tulfo brothers have long utilized their extensive media platform and public sentiment to strengthen their influence. He also argued that Senate hearings should not be turned into a “ratings game” or a form of entertainment.
In response, Tulfo said that he and his brothers use their influence and courage to help oppressed individuals and those in need of immediate government action, not for personal gain or publicity.
The senator also highlighted his track record of addressing complaints brought to his office and television program.
“Ang dami ko nang na-solveng problema, si Pulong ba may na-solve na?” Tulfo said.
The public continues to closely monitor the ongoing dispute between the two officials, which stems from differing views on the role of the media, the Senate, and the accountability of public officials to the people. #
