MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the swift payment of contractors who have properly completed their infrastructure projects.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the President urged his Cabinet to “move forward” from the flood control scandal and ensure pending projects are finished quickly.

She explained that payments had slowed due to scrutiny of ghost and substandard projects, but contractors with legitimate work will now be prioritized.

The Department of Budget and Management has set a ₱1.3 trillion infrastructure spending target for 2026, with the Palace emphasizing that completed projects will help boost the economy.  #END
