CAVITE-LAGUNA, Philippines — A total of 26.5 kilometers of the 45-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) is now operational, while construction continues on the remaining 18.5 kilometers.
Once completed, CALAX will connect with the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) corridor and the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), improving access to major roads south of Metro Manila.
According to InsiderPH, work on the remaining sections includes roadways, bridges, drainage systems and interchange ramps. No completion date for the entire expressway has been announced.
The project is expected to provide motorists with an alternative route and improve connectivity to factories, warehouses and commercial centers across the Cavite-Laguna industrial corridor.
CALAX is part of Metro Pacific’s southern toll-road network expansion, aimed at improving passenger travel and the movement of goods. #
