Boac, Marinduque – The Makanayon Leadership Training provided by the Nayong Pilipino Foundation with the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Mimaropa went to the geodetic center of the Philippines from February 24 to 26. Five modules of the Makanayon NPF flagship program were imparted to tourism frontliners in preparation for DOT Philippine Experience program by May 2026.


On day 1, the DOT Mimaropa assistant regional director Gladys Quesea welcome some 50 participants from tour guides, establishments, academe, provincial and municipal tourism offices. The first two modules was about Makatao and Makadiwa, an ideal overview of the Makanayon mindset of cultural leadership. The participants were divided into group assigned for each session recap, questions and highlights even icebreakers.

Then the second day started with a review of the previous sessions. Next two modules is about makapanagutan and makakalikasan. Both modules are intertwined about environment and sustainability. Several activities and workshops were shared by the Makanayon facilitators. The participants from Marinduque actively participated with sharing about local realities such as moryonan, tubong and kalutang.

The last day is going to be on being Makabayan, it is a summary of the two days and moving forward for the critical next steps for the Ph Experience program which mainly focused on food and beverage (hain and salo-salo), culture and heritage tourism (kalinaw, pamana) and leisure events (likha). #END
