MANILA – House Committee on Public Accounts Chair Terry Ridon has urged Ramil Madriaga, the alleged former aide of Vice President Sara Duterte, to disclose the identities of individuals who supposedly benefited from the vice president’s confidential funds.
The call came after Madriaga, through his lawyer, expressed readiness to testify in Duterte’s impeachment proceedings. Ridon said his testimony could clarify suspicious names listed as beneficiaries of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Department of Education (DepEd) confidential funds, including “Mary Grace Piattos,” “Kokoy Villamin,” “Joug de Asim,” and “Miggy Mango.”
The Philippine Statistics Authority earlier confirmed no records exist for “Mary Grace Piattos.”
Ridon stressed that Madriaga’s account would be crucial in verifying alleged beneficiaries linked to ₱612 million in confidential funds and explaining how such names appeared in liquidation documents.
Duterte is facing new impeachment complaints citing Madriaga’s affidavits. His lawyer, Raymund Palad, said Madriaga is willing to appear before authorities if issued a subpoena. #END
