The Adamson Computer Science Society hosted a very meaningful recollection event, “Our Blessed Connection, From Beatification to Canonization: The Legacy of St. Carlo Acutis,” for the visitation of the First Class Relic of St. Carlo Acutis, on May 7, 2026. The gathering was a celebration in honour of the life of St. Carlo Acutis, who is called the patron saint of the internet and technology. The event brought students together, there were no studies, for a time of prayer and reflection, and to remind the Computer Science community that holiness and technology can live together.
One of the event heads shared how fulfilling the experience was, especially after seeing how students related to the story and mission of St. Carlo. According to the organizer, the success of the event made all the preparations and hard work worthwhile.
The recollection also became personally meaningful for one of the organizers because it coincided with the same day as their certification examination. Attending the Mass served as a moment to pray, surrender worries, and seek guidance and strength before taking the exam. Listening to the talks about St. Carlo Acutis also encouraged deeper reflection, particularly as a Computer Science student navigating a technology-driven world.
Adding to this sentiment, the president of the Adamson Computer Science Society also highlighted a powerful message from the recollection: digital skills are not only meant for innovation or personal success, but can also be used to serve others and contribute positively to society. The life of St. Carlo Acutis reminded attendees that technology can become an instrument for goodness, compassion, and spreading God’s love.
The event featured guest speaker Brother JP Bagatsing, director of Biyahe ni Kuya Carlo under the Association of Friends of St. Carlo Acutis Philippines. Through his sharing, students were encouraged to deepen their faith and recognize the importance of using their knowledge and talents with purpose and responsibility.
The return of the relic to the Adamson community became a significant spiritual experience, strengthening the bond of the Computer Science community through faith and unity. As students continue their academic journey in the field of technology, the recollection serves as a reminder that even in the modern digital age, it is still possible to remain connected to God while becoming instruments of positive change. #
