MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte’s declared net worth increased to ₱98.66 million in 2025, up from ₱7.25 million in 2007, according to her Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) presented during the 25th day of the impeachment trial.
Prosecution witness Atty. Karen Batu, officer-in-charge of the Records Division of the Office of the Ombudsman, said the figures show a 1,260% increase in Duterte’s declared wealth over an 18-year period.
Based on SALN records, Duterte posted a net worth of ₱7.25 million in 2007 while serving in the Davao City local government. Her declared wealth gradually rose to ₱49.7 million in 2018, ₱55.61 million in 2019, ₱56.58 million in 2020, ₱65.31 million in 2021, ₱71.66 million in 2022, ₱77.51 million in 2023, and ₱88.51 million in 2024.
For 2025, Duterte and her husband, lawyer Manases Carpio, declared a combined net worth of ₱98.66 million, with total assets of ₱122.8 million and liabilities of ₱24.14 million.
Batu also noted that cash-on-hand and bank deposits were declared in earlier SALNs but were no longer reflected from 2019 to 2025.
During the hearing, Senator-Judge Lito Lapid stressed the importance of accurate SALN filing, warning that inaccuracies may lead to serious accountability issues for public officials.
Batu added that failure to properly file SALNs may constitute a violation of Republic Act 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. #
