CAVITE, Philippines — Several bus operators serving routes from the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) to Cavite have yet to implement higher fares despite the fare increase already taking effect for some public utility vehicles.
Bus drivers and conductors said they are still waiting for instructions from their respective operators and the official fare matrix from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) before collecting the increased fares.
If implemented, fares on routes serving Tanza, Naic, and Ternate may increase. For the PITX–Ternate route, the fare could reach ₱149 from the previous ₱105, depending on the bus operator and the approved fare matrix. Other Cavite routes may also be affected.
Meanwhile, some modern jeepneys operating from PITX to Tanza have already implemented the fare increase after receiving their fare matrix. The fare rose from ₱60 to ₱68 starting Monday morning.
Cavite commuters are advised to prepare for possible fare adjustments as bus operators await the official fare matrix and instructions for implementing the new rates. #
