The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) welcomed Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), during her visit to the Philippines on 11–13 March 2026.
The trip was part of the IMF Managing Director’s regional outreach, which aimed to deepen the IMF’s collaboration with the Philippines.
In a courtesy visit with BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr., Ms. Georgieva reaffirmed the IMF’s commitment to supporting the country’s efforts to foster a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient society. This commitment is particularly significant as the Philippines holds the ASEAN chairmanship this year.
The BSP values its long-standing partnership with the IMF. This partnership has included work in economic surveillance, policy dialogue, and capacity development.
Looking ahead, the BSP will continue to engage with the IMF and actively support global and regional initiatives that promote monetary and financial stability and sustainable economic growth. ###
