MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has issued a cease-and-desist order against several projects in the Taguig portion of Laguna de Bay over alleged unauthorized reclamation.
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said the order took effect on August 20 following instructions from the Office of the President through the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).
The projects have been suspended pending verification of compliance with required permits, consultations, and inter-agency coordination.
Senator Panfilo Lacson earlier called for an investigation, citing possible lapses in coordination since the projects reportedly began in late 2025.
The Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) also confirmed that no coordination was made with its office and stressed that permits and public consultations are mandatory before undertaking such projects.
The order places the projects on hold while authorities assess their compliance with environmental and reclamation regulations. #PLMN
