MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte said she fears for her life following alleged harassment against her family after a Quezon City court issued an arrest warrant over a grave threats case.
“I do not feel safe… Wala akong tiwala sa korte, sa pulis, I really do not feel safe at all!” VP Duterte says.
Duterte arrived at the Quezon City Hall of Justice at around 10:48 a.m., saying she does not feel safe amid the situation.
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 98 issued the warrant for three counts of grave threats, setting bail at P120,000 for each charge, after the Department of Justice found probable cause under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The case stemmed from Duterte’s November 2024 online briefing where she allegedly made threats against Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Liza Marcos, and Martin Romualdez.
Duterte said she has documented threats since 2023 but did not provide further details. Authorities said she may post bail as legal proceedings continue, while her camp is seeking the dismissal of the charges.
