MANILA – D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) is set to begin construction this year on contract package 105 (CP 105) of the Metro Manila Subway, covering the Kalayaan and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) stations and a short tunnel.

Originally targeted for completion in 2029, the project faced delays due to right-of-way issues. DMCI President and CEO Jorge A. Consunji said groundbreaking is expected within the year, in partnership with Japan’s Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd., which is also working on the Quezon Avenue–East Avenue section.

Consunji added that another subway project award may be finalized by next month, with groundbreaking possibly in March or April. DMCI is also eyeing other major projects and partnerships with both public and private sectors.

DMCI serves as the construction arm of DMCI Holdings, Inc., which has investments in infrastructure, energy, mining, and property development. #END
